I created this video for you to show you how I work with Lily on her speech and language skills. Now, please know…I do not do this ON PURPOSE all the time. It just happens naturally in my interactions with her since this is what I do for a living!
In this video you will see Lily acting as my little language model. That said, you will also see me roll with the punches as I can model and try to structure the interaction a certain way, but I still have to follow Lily’s lead as I cannot force her to say or do what I want her to do! 🙂 Just some food for thought!
Lily does speak in 2-3 word phrases at 20 months of age. But she is ahead of where she should be, so please do not compare your child to where she is language-wise. My poor kiddo has been “in speech and language therapy” since she popped out of the womb! 😉 Please remember that children advance at different paces and rates.
