Song/Nursery Rhyme of the Week
MAN ON THE MOON – WHAT DO YOU SEE? RHYME
Recite the following rhyme to your child.
Man on the Moon, up so high,
What do you see, flying by.
I see rockets flying by.
I see rockets in the sky.
Then repeat the first two lines and let your child pretend to be the Man in the Moon.
Choose something else that they see.
Letter of the Week
Snack of the Week
Mini Moons
Make them out of Apple Slices and/or cheese!
Easy to cut and you can eat them together or separate.
Art Project of the Week
Make stars
Cut out stars from white (or yellow) paper.
Make sure they are big enough to fit the pictures you are going to put on them!
Cut out the attached pictures and paste them on cut out stars.
Get those pictures HERE!
Use these pictures for a variety of language rich activities.
For example, naming the objects in the picture, matching objects in your home to the pictures (go on a scavenger hunt), retelling the story with the pictures or using the pictures to create a new story. You can even work on matching the rhyming words using the pictures (moon-balloon, hush-mush-brush, mittens-kittens, etc). The sky is the limit!
Field Trip of the Week
If you live near a Planetarium, pay a visit this week!
If not, create your own sky watch and look for stars and the moon each night this week before bed.
You can count the stars and talk about how many there are while there is just ONE moon!
