The farmer plants the seeds

The farmer plants the seeds

Hi-ho the dairy-O

The farmer plants the seeds.

For more versus:

The sun begins to shine

The rain begins to fall

The plants begin to grow

The flowers smile at us

Letter of the Week

T for Tiny

“Every letter makes a sound, T says Tuh!”

Snack of the Week

Carrot & Raisin Salad

Need: Carrots (1 per child), raisins, veggie peeler, bowls (1 per child)

Talk about planting seeds (in this case, carrot seeds ~ talk about how you can plant carrot seeds just like grass seeds).

Wash the carrots, help use the peeler

Making a big pile of carrot peels to eat in a bowl.

Add raisins, mix together and enjoy!

Enjoy!

Art Project of the Week

Go to a store and buy some wheat grass seeds.

OR other grass seed will work, too!

Plant them in a pot, a cup or a glass mason jar in some soil.

Water, put then next to a window and watch them grow (in under a week!)

If you prefer to skip the dirt/soil then you can do this with just a sponge!

For the sponge, wet the sponge, place the grass seed on top,

Leave the sponge with seeds on top near a sunny window.

Within 4 days you will see sprouts.

Within a week to 10 days you should see full grown grass!

HOW COOL!

Field Trip of the Week

Take a trip to your local whole foods to buy wheat grass seeds,

A hardware store that also sells plants (home depot, lowes)

Or a garden shop.

This can become a fun adventure if you go on a “seed hunt”

Have fun!
